OutOfMemoryError caused by Agent Launch Logs component of Support Bundle Generation

Issue

Support bundle generation from the UI or in the background causes memory pressure and eventually OutOfMemoryError. Controller logs might show:

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError:
    at com.cloudbees.jenkins.support.api.LaunchLogsFileContent.getInputStream

Resolution

Upgrade Support Core plugin to version 1519.vb_f214b_a_25a_a_5 or later. That version of Support Core is available under the CloudBees Assurance Program in CloudBees CI 2.479.2.x or later (End of November 2024 release).

Workaround

  • Disable the Agent Launch Logs component under Manage Jenkins > Support Core > Automated Support Bundle Generation.

  • Disable the Agent Launch Logs component when generating a Support Bundle from the UI.
