2021-04-24: General Availability release of Bitbucket Server Integration

Bitbucket Server integration enables users to manage repositories and pull requests from BitBucket Server, to surface and present this information in CloudBees Engineering Efficiency.

Users can now see actions related to code PRs that affect delivery velocity across the engineering team, and make appropriate process adjustments to keep teams productive and value flowing.

2021-03-16: Work categories defined with Jira issue types and labels

Work categories can now be created using labels and issue types providing more flexibility in filtering, resulting in more accurate groupings. This change gives users the flexibility to create work categories that more closely match their ways of working in Jira. In addition, CloudBees Engineering Efficiency configuration of Jira is also simplified.

2021-03-15: Preview release of Bitbucket Server integration

Bitbucket Server integration enables users to manage repositories and pull requests from BitBucket Server, to surface and present this information in CloudBees Engineering Efficiency. Users can now see actions related to code PRs that affect delivery velocity across the engineering team, and make appropriate process adjustments to keep teams productive and value flowing.

2021-02-24: Cycle time trend visualization enhancements

Cycle time trend visualization enables an engineering leader to get a “big picture” view into how fast the team or teams are delivering software, for a more accurate view against expected results.

The cycle time visualization changed from a per-day average to computing the average cycle time of all closed issues based on the selected time range. This change in how cycle time is aggregated also brings with it a switch from a line chart to a bar chart visualization. Additionally, this change was made to flatten the spikes in data coming from a per-day calculation and increase visibility for changes to trends over time.

The cycle time can be aggregated in 7, 30, or 90 days time ranges.

Updates:

  • Cycle time trends over the past six months are now represented in a bar graph.

  • Cycle time is now based on closed issues.

  • Cycle time phases for in-review and in-progress statuses, if available.

  • The 365 days option was removed from the Time range filter.

  • The Cycle time documentation has been updated to reflect these changes.

2021-02-20: Usability and performance improvements

Multi-select filter usability improvements

CloudBees Engineering Efficiency allows users to select or deselect multiple items in Jira projects, issue types, and work category filters to quickly refine the data shown. These options are available on the Investment area, Activity, and Cycle time screens.

Tooltips to explain key calculations

CloudBees Engineering Efficiency users can now understand how calculations for key metrics are calculated using tooltips provided on the Investment areas, Activity, and Cycle time screens.

Filter issue types on Investment areas

You can now filter issue types on the Investment areas screen to explore how much effort is spent on specific issue types.

2021-01-20: Usability and performance improvements

Click-through to source tools

CloudBees Engineering Efficiency aggregates data from multiple tools into out of the box reports. With this change, the user now can go with one click from the drill-in view of these reports directly to the source tool, like the pull request in GitHub, allowing users to explore their system end-to-end across their tools.
