You can notify users of step changes by email, Slack messaging, and/or by sending the event to an observability tool, such as New Relic. You can choose to notify about successfully executed steps, failed steps, or both. CloudBees Release Orchestration SaaS can also automatically identify the committer and notify them of step results.

The following Pipeline composer tools have configuration options for notifications:
Configuring notifications
CloudBees Release Orchestration SaaS enables you to notify committers and other users when a pipeline step is successful, has failed, or both.
To configure notifications:

From the CloudBees Release Orchestration SaaS Home page, select .

Select an existing pipeline, or create a new pipeline. Refer to Working with pipelines for more information.

Select a pipeline step where notifications are available. For more information, refer to Pipeline composer tool options with notification settings.

Select Notification.

Select Success and/or Failure.

(Optional) Select Notify committer.

Select notification mode(s):

For email, select Email, and then select the Email ID(s) from the options.

For Slack, select Slack, and then enter the Slack webhook URL and the Slack channel.

For an observability tool, select Send event to observability tool, and then select the Tool name from the options.

Your notification of pipeline step results is configured.
