You can use multifactor authentication (MFA) to secure your CloudBees platform account. The additional authentication step provides more security than a single account password.
To use multifactor authentication, you must have a third-party authentication app, such as Google Authenticator, installed on your phone.
Enabling MFA
To enable MFA:
-
Select your avatar, located in the right corner of the title bar.
-
Select Edit profile.
-
Select ENABLE MULTIFACTOR AUTHENTICATION to display a QR code.
-
Open the authentication app on your phone, and then add a new account to the app.
-
In your authentication app, select the option to scan a QR code.
-
Hold your phone up to your computer screen so that it can scan the CloudBees QR code. Once it scans, a code appears on your phone.
-
In the CloudBees platform, select Enter code. Enter the code displayed in the authentication app, and then select CONTINUE.
-
A single-use recovery code is displayed. The recovery code enables you to sign in to CloudBees platform without your phone. Copy the code somewhere safe, and then select OK.
You have added MFA with your authentication app to your account, and you have a recovery code saved in case you lose access to your phone.
