CloudBees CI BlueOcean Deprecation

1 minute readKnowledge base

Issue

When running CloudBees CI, an administrative monitor is displayed to inform users about the deprecation and upcoming removal of Blue Ocean plugin from the CloudBees Assurance Program (CAP).

Starting with CloudBees CI 2.568.1.37445, Blue Ocean and team controllers have reached end-of-life (EOL) and are no longer supported. Blue Ocean and team controllers will not receive future updates, security patches, or technical support, and have been removed from the CloudBees Assurance Program (CAP).

What this means for you:

  • Team controllers no longer function.

  • Blue Ocean may continue to work, but is no longer supported by CloudBees.

  • Technical support for Blue Ocean and team controllers is no longer available.

CloudBees strongly encourages all customers to complete their migration away from team controllers to ensure uninterrupted service. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact CloudBees Support.

Resolution

If you are using CloudBees CI Teams, they can be migrated to managed controllers by following either In place conversion of Team controllers to Managed controllers or Migrate team controllers to managed controllers using Move/Copy/Promote, please reach out to CloudBees support to define a proper migration path in advance.

For troubleshooting Pipelines, we recommend using CloudBees Pipeline Explorer Plugin as a better alternative to BlueOcean.
