flag status

CloudBees Feature Management

The flag status indicates where each flag is in the lifecycle and answers the following questions:

  • Has the flag been deployed?

  • Is it an old flag that is not being used?

  • Is this flag serving everyone the same value, and can it be removed?

Flag status is derived from the flags’s impression data, and is reported to each environment.

A flag status can be one following states:

  • Active - Received impressions with different values over the last seven days.

  • Stale - Received impressions over the last seven days, but all had the same value.

  • Inactive - No impressions received within the past seven days.

  • Setup - No impressions received yet.

  • Permanent - A permanent (long-lived) flag, ignoring impression data.
