This topic describes the supported platforms for CloudBees CD/RO servers and agents. For more information, refer to platform notes.
For more information about CloudBees CD/RO on Kubernetes platforms, refer to Supported platforms for CloudBees CD/RO on Kubernetes.
Server platforms
| Starting from CloudBees CD/RO release 2025.06.0, Windows Server 2022 support is available. In earlier releases, Windows Server 2022 was not validated or certified for traditional deployments. If you are running older CloudBees CD/RO deployments on Windows Server 2022, CloudBees strongly recommends upgrading to version 2025.06.0 or later, or migrating to a supported platform for full support. |

CloudBees CD/RO |
| CloudBees CD/RO currently supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 9.1, 9.2, and 9.3 for version 9 and supports version 10.1 for version 10. Using other versions may result in unexpected errors. |
To run CloudBees CD/RO on RedHat version 9.5 or later, including version 10.x, you must manually install the libxcrypt-compat package using the following command:
sudo yum install libxcrypt-compat
or, using this alternative command:
sudo dnf -y install libxcrypt-compat
You must install this package because the httpd component depends on libcrypt.so.1, which Red Hat has removed from the standard OS distribution in the newer versions. The libxcrypt-compat package provides this library for backward compatibility.

Proxy agents for other platforms
| This does not apply to CloudBees Analytics for CloudBees CI installations. |
A CloudBees CD/RO proxy agent connects to a proxy target and enables agentless automation. You can run a proxy agent on a supported Microsoft Windows or Linux platform to perform actions on platforms that are not directly supported. For example, you can use a proxy agent to automate actions on an IBM z systems mainframe running z/OS or Linux.
You can use a proxy agent to communicate with a target platform that can execute commands using the SSH protocol.
Databases
The following table lists all databases that are officially supported for CloudBees CD/RO:
| Configure databases to use UTF-8 encoding and allow up to 200 open connections. |

To ensure optimal performance and long-term scalability, CloudBees strongly recommends using PostgreSQL instead of MySQL for CloudBees CD/RO production deployments. Although MySQL is a reliable general-purpose database and suitable for short-term development or testing, larger production environments may experience scalability limitations over time because of high write loads in CloudBees CD/RO production. If you deploy CloudBees CD/RO in production using MySQL and later migrate to a more robust database, CloudBees does not provide migration support. The only support that CloudBees CD/RO offers is a tooling-based XML export and import process, which is resource-intensive and may introduce additional challenges depending on the size of your database. For more information, refer to Switch from an alternate database. |
1 Clean installations of the CloudBees CD/RO server require MySQL JDBC driver. For upgrades, you must specify additional settings in the my.cnf/my.ini configuration file. For more information, refer to Install MySQL JDBC driver.
2 The built-in MariaDB database is only supported for production use with CloudBees Analytics for CloudBees CI, and not supported for CloudBees CD/RO or full CloudBees Software Delivery Automation.
