This document describes the support policies for plugin support for CloudBees CI and CloudBees Jenkins Platform.
Support of plugins is restricted to the versions specified by the CloudBees Assurance Program for the installed version of the product.
Plugin tiers
Through the CloudBees Assurance Program, CloudBees classifies plugins into tiers according to how much risk to a given installation’s stability a given plugin may pose.
-
Tier 1 (Verified/proprietary): These are plugins that have been verified through the CloudBees Assurance Program to meet critical use cases, are stable when used in conjunction with supported CloudBees products, and can be used with confidence.
-
Tier 2 (Compatible): These are plugins which have a reputation for their quality but have not undergone end-to-end testing with supported CloudBees products. These plugins are on a path to become Verified plugins.
-
Tier 3 (Community-maintained and unknown plugins): These are plugins which have not been verified by CloudBees. These plugins should be used with caution in a given installation because their stability is unknown. These plugins are supported on a commercially-reasonable basis. This usually implies guidance on using the plugins and diagnosis but are not subject to the CloudBees Support SLA.
The following table calls out the way CloudBees delivers fixes and features.
