Notifications

In the CloudBees platform, you can set up notifications for either email or Slack messaging so that users are informed of any updates in an organization.

Access a notification configuration

Search in and sort the notification list.

To access a notification configuration:

Select the next to Configurations on the left pane, and then select Notifications.
(Optional) Search for a specific notification configuration, by entering all or part of a notification name into Search.
(Optional) Select an option in Sort by to sort the notification list by either ASCENDING or DESCENDING alphanumerical sort order.

The notifications are displayed according to your search or sort criteria.

Create a notification configuration

Set up any number of notifications, using either email or Slack.

To create a notification configuration:

Select the next to Configurations on the left pane, and then select Notifications.
Select CREATE NOTIFICATION.
Select either EMAIL or SLACK WEBHOOK, as follows:
1. For EMAIL notifications, enter:
  1. Channel name.
  2. (Optional) Description.
  3. Email addresses, in comma-separated format.
2. For SLACK WEBHOOK notifications, enter:
  1. Channel name.
  2. (Optional) Description.
  3. Webhook URL.
Select SUBMIT.

Your notification configuration is created, and listed in Notifications. For email notifications, designated recipients receive an email in response to any updates to a change in an organization. For Slack notifications, a Slack channel provides all updates to an organization, for any subscribed user.

Update a notification configuration

Update any of the configuration settings of a notification.

To update a notification configuration:

Select the next to Configurations on the left pane, and then select Notifications.
Select the next to the notification setting you want to update.
Select Edit notification.
Make any desired changes.
Select SAVE.

The selected notification configuration is updated accordingly.

Delete a notification configuration

Delete any of your notification configurations. If deleted, the notification configuration is completely removed from the CloudBees platform, and deletion is irreversible.

To delete a notification:

Select the next to Configurations on the left pane, and then select Notifications.
Select the next to the notification configuration you want to delete.
Select Delete notification.
Select DELETE.

The selected notification configuration is deleted and removed from the notification list.
