Project management integration

3 minute read

Use the Project management integration to connect your Atlassian Jira tasks to CloudBees Unify. Once connected, Jira tickets can be used to do the following:

  • Query their references in flow metrics reports (organization level)

  • Link and view work items for feature traceability (component level)

  • Track security issues in Jira projects (application level)

For more information on setting up flow metrics reports and understanding the flow metrics dashboard, refer to:

For more information on setting up feature traceability, refer to Feature traceability.

Create an Atlassian personal access token to set up the connection to your Jira account.

Create a Jira integration

Use the following steps to create a Jira integration. However, the specific fields to complete may differ based on the purpose of the integration. For example, a Jira integration for flow metrics does not require setting up the webhook URL and secret. Be sure to complete the fields based on the purpose of your integration.

  • The following fields are required for all Jira integrations:

    • URL, username, and personal access token to connect the Jira instance to CloudBees Unify.

  • The following fields are required for flow metrics:

    • URL, username, and personal access token to connect the Jira instance to CloudBees Unify.

  • The following fields are required for feature traceability:

    • Webhook URL and secret to connect the Jira instance to CloudBees Unify.

  • The following fields are required to track security issues in Jira projects:

    • Jira severity mapping to map the severity levels in the Jira project to the severity levels in CloudBees Unify.

Fields not required for the purpose of the integration are optional and may be left blank, but must be completed if the integration is used for that purpose. For example, if the Jira integration is created for flow metrics, the webhook URL and secret fields may be left blank. However, if the same Jira integration is also used for feature traceability, the webhook URL and secret fields must be completed.

    2. Select Reset mapping to reset the mapping.

  7. To set up the webhook, copy the Webhook URL and secret provided in the Jira integration configuration to your Jira instance.
