Link Jira tickets to a feature flag to track related development work alongside flag activity. Linked tickets appear as links under Related work items on the flag’s Jira tab.
Before you begin
Configure the Jira integration at both the organization and application levels before linking tickets. Refer to Set up the Jira integration.
Link a ticket to a flag
To link a Jira ticket to a feature flag:
-
Select a feature flag and open the Jira tab.
-
Select Add Jira ticket.
A panel opens where you can enter a ticket key.
-
Enter the Jira ticket key and select Validate.
-
If the key is valid, the ticket details appear and Link ticket becomes active.
-
If the key is invalid, an error alert appears and Link ticket remains disabled. Verify the ticket key is correct and exists in the connected Jira instance.
-
-
Select Link ticket.
The ticket appears as a link under Related work items on the Jira tab.
Remove a linked ticket
This action only removes the association in CloudBees Unify. The Jira ticket itself is not affected.
To remove a linked ticket:
-
Select a feature flag and open the Jira tab.
-
Under Related work items, select Remove Jira item on the ticket row.
The Remove Jira Ticket confirmation opens.
-
Select Delete to remove the link, or Cancel to close without making changes.
The ticket is removed from the Related work items list.
Removing linked tickets when development work is complete helps prevent stale flags from accumulating in CloudBees Unify.
Ticket status updates
After you link a ticket to a flag, CloudBees Unify syncs status changes from your Jira board to the flag’s Jira tab under Related work items.
Status updates require an active webhook. If ticket statuses do not update, verify that the webhook URL and secret are correctly configured in your Jira instance.
Refer to Create the organization integration.
