Monitor CI and Jenkins builds

View and monitor your CloudBees CI and Jenkins® Multibranch Pipeline jobs and builds in CloudBees Unify after integrating your controllers. Access build details, test results, artifacts, and security scan results through the unified interface while maintaining links back to your controllers for detailed troubleshooting.

Before you begin, ensure you have completed the CI or Jenkins integration. For setup instructions, refer to Connect CI and Jenkins controllers.

Access the Multibranch Pipeline component

The component containing the CI Multibranch Pipeline integration is listed in the components list for your CloudBees Unify organization.

To access your integrated CI component:

  1. Select Components, and then select the component containing the CI integration.

  2. View the component details using the tabbed navigation.

Review Multibranch Pipeline jobs

From the CloudBees Unify component containing the CI integration, view all Multibranch Pipeline jobs.

To view the CloudBees CI or Jenkins job:

  1. Select the organization and component associated with the CI job.

  2. Select Components  Workflows.

  3. (Optional) Select Filters to filter by Provider:

    • CloudBees CI as Provider indicates a CloudBees CI job.

    • Jenkins as Provider indicates a Jenkins job.

Your connected CI Pipeline jobs are listed as part of all workflows associated with that component, and identified by Provider.

The Provider column identifies whether the job originates from CloudBees CI or Jenkins. To view the job details in your controller, select Go to Controller.

Review Multibranch Pipeline builds

From the component containing the CI integration, view all Multibranch Pipeline builds.

To view the CloudBees CI or Jenkins build:

  1. Select the organization and component associated with the CI build.

  2. Select Components  Runs.

  3. (Optional) Select Filters to filter by Provider:

    • CloudBees CI as Provider indicates a CloudBees CI build.

    • Jenkins as Provider indicates a Jenkins build.

Your connected CI Pipeline builds are listed as part of all runs associated with that component, and identified by Provider.

After enabling implicit code security analysis, the implicit security scan is displayed in the Run summary. To learn more about available security metrics for integrated CI jobs and builds, refer to Monitor through analytics dashboards.

From the Runs list, you can: * Select the build name to view the build details in Runs  Run details. * Select the external link to view the build in the controller.

Review Multibranch Pipeline build details

Access the details for your Multibranch Pipeline builds.

To view CloudBees CI or Jenkins build details:

  1. Select the organization and component associated with the CI build.

  2. Select Components  Runs.

  3. Select the build name to view the build details in Runs  Run details. The connected CI Pipeline build details are displayed.

  4. Select the following tabs:

    • Stages: A summary of the build stages. Select View logs to navigate to the build logs in the controller.

    • Test results: Test results from your build.

    • Build artifacts: A list of generated artifacts from your build.

    • Deployments: A list of deployed artifacts from your build.

  5. (Optional) Select View build in controller to go to the build in the controller.

Review the component summary

The Summary tab in Components displays a comprehensive snapshot of all activities related to your component.

To use the component summary:

  1. Navigate to your integrated CI component.

  2. Select the Summary tab.

  3. Display the most relevant data by filtering on a repository branch and/or a specified time frame.

Review security issues and findings

Select Components  Security overview or Components  Security center to get security details for integrated CI jobs and builds.

The security views provide: * Vulnerability tracking by severity * Security scan results from CI builds * SLA compliance monitoring * Mean time to resolve (MTTR) metrics

Review artifact information

If you have generated build or deployed artifacts, review the complete version history for each artifact.

To view artifact information:

  1. Select the organization and component associated with your CI integration.

  2. Select Components  Artifacts.

  3. Review the version history and metadata for each artifact.

Monitor through analytics dashboards

Monitor your integrated CloudBees CI and Jenkins Multibranch Pipelines jobs and builds in CloudBees Unify value stream management (VSM) dashboards to assess your software development process, performance, security, and testing.

Each dashboard enables you to filter data by organization component and timeframe. In all analytics dashboards, the provider (CloudBees CI or Jenkins) is listed where applicable.

To monitor CloudBees CI and Jenkins operations health, refer to CI insights for Jenkins.

Software delivery activity

Track activities and performance in software delivery.

Prerequisites

To populate the Software delivery activity dashboard, register artifact metadata and deployed artifact metadata from an integrated CI build.

To view software delivery metrics:

  1. Select Analytics  Software delivery activity.

  2. Filter by your integrated CI component.

  3. Select the linked number in the Workflow runs chart to display a list of the CI builds for the integrated Pipeline. The Provider column indicates CloudBees CI or Jenkins.

DORA metrics

Track deployment frequency, lead time for changes, mean time to recovery, and change failure rate for your integrated CI pipelines.

Prerequisites

To populate the DORA metrics dashboard, register artifact metadata and deployed artifact metadata from an integrated CI build.

To view DORA metrics:

  1. Select Analytics  DORA metrics.

  2. Filter by your integrated CI component.

  3. Review deployment frequency, lead time, mean time to recovery, and change failure rate. The Provider column indicates CloudBees CI or Jenkins where applicable.

Flow metrics

Track flow efficiency and throughput for your integrated CI pipelines.

Prerequisites

To populate the Flow metrics dashboard, register artifact metadata and deployed artifact metadata from an integrated CI build.

To view flow metrics:

  1. Select Analytics  Flow metrics.

  2. Filter by your integrated CI component.

  3. Review flow efficiency and throughput data for your pipelines.

Security insights

Use the Security insights dashboard to analyze CI-integrated components, track vulnerabilities by severity and scan type, monitor SLA compliance, and assess mean time to resolve (MTTR) vulnerabilities.

Prerequisites

To populate the Security insights dashboard, you must report scan results to CloudBees Unify. Refer to Configure CI security scanning.

To view security metrics:

  1. Select Analytics  Security insights.

  2. Filter by your integrated CI components.

  3. Review vulnerability trends and SLA compliance.

Test insights

Get a deep understanding of software code quality, performance, and security with the Test insights dashboard.

Prerequisites

To populate the Test insights dashboard, you must publish test results from an integrated CI build. Refer to Publish CI test results.

To view test metrics:

  1. Select Analytics  Test insights.

  2. Filter by your integrated CI components.

  3. Review test suite results by provider (Jenkins or CloudBees CI).
