Set up multifactor authentication

1 minute read

Enable, use, and manage multifactor authentication (MFA) to enhance account security in CloudBees Unify.

You can only use CloudBees Unify MFA if you access the platform with CloudBees credentials. If you use Google social or GitHub OAuth authentication, set up multifactor authentication through your Google or GitHub account instead.

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • A CloudBees Unify account using CloudBees credentials (username and password).

  • A mobile device with a third-party authentication app installed, such as Google Authenticator.

Enable multifactor authentication

To enable MFA for your account:

  1. Navigate to your User profile and select Enable multifactor authentication.

  2. Scan the displayed QR code with your authentication app.

  3. Enter the generated code and continue.

  4. Save the provided recovery code in a secure location.

Your CloudBees Unify account now has MFA enabled with your authentication app, and you have a recovery code saved for emergency access.

Sign in with multifactor authentication

After enabling MFA, sign in with your CloudBees credentials plus the verification code from your authentication app.

If you lose access to your device, select Use the recovery code and enter your saved recovery code. Recovery codes are single-use and you’ll receive a new one after each recovery sign-in.

Disable multifactor authentication

To disable MFA for your account:

  1. Navigate to Edit profile and select Disable multifactor authentication.

  2. Confirm and refresh your browser.
