Navigate and filter with the AI Assistant

2 minute read

Use the AI Assistant to navigate to any page in CloudBees Unify and filter content using natural language, bypassing menu navigation. For background on how the AI Assistant understands requests, refer to How the AI Assistant works.

Before you begin

  • Have an active CloudBees Unify account.

  • Have access to the AI Assistant from the top-right corner of any CloudBees Unify page.

The AI Assistant understands navigation requests in natural language and redirects you automatically after confirming the action.

  1. Open the AI Assistant chat panel.

  2. Enter a navigation request. For example: Take me to Components

  3. Press Enter, or select next to the chat input. The AI Assistant confirms what it understood, then navigates you to the requested page.

The AI Assistant understands flexible phrasing: Go to Feature management, Take me to Components, and Show me Analytics all work. You can navigate to top-level pages, nested sections, or specific features.

To get the most out of navigation:

  • Be direct: the AI Assistant is faster than selecting through menus. Use it whenever you know where you want to go.

  • Use partial names: Go to flags works as well as Go to Feature management.

  • Chain actions: after navigating, immediately ask the AI Assistant to filter or search on the new page.

  • Use follow-up suggestions: after navigation, the AI Assistant suggests relevant actions for your current page. Select any suggestion to act immediately.

For a complete list of navigation examples, refer to AI Assistant prompts reference.

After navigating to a page, use the AI Assistant to filter and search content using natural language. This is especially useful on the Feature management page.

The following table shows common filter and search actions with example prompts:

Action Example prompt

Filter by status

Show me stale flags

Filter by label

Find flags with the "experiment" label

Search by name

Find flags with "checkout"

Switch environment

Switch to Production environment

Combine filters

Show me inactive flags in Production environment

Clear filters

Clear all filters

You can also build on previous filters progressively without repeating yourself:

  1. Show me inactive flags.

  2. Now filter those by the "beta" label.

  3. And only in Production.

To filter effectively:

  • Be specific: Show me inactive flags in Production works better than Show flags.

  • Start broad, then narrow with follow-up requests.

  • Check follow-up suggestions after filtering.

For a complete list of filter and search examples, refer to AI Assistant prompts reference.

Troubleshoot navigation issues

The following covers common navigation problems and their solutions.

AI Assistant doesn’t recognize the page name

Try using a different name or be more specific. For example, instead of flags, try Feature management or feature flags.

Navigation happens too quickly

This is expected behavior. The AI Assistant navigates immediately after confirming the action. Navigate back using your browser’s back button, or ask the AI Assistant to navigate elsewhere.

Wrong page loaded

Ask the AI Assistant again with a more specific request.
