Manage custom filters for catalogs and catalog items

The Service catalog allows you to create custom filters for both catalogs and catalog items to quickly access results.

The Default filter displays all catalogs or catalog items, depending on the page. You can refine the results using the Search feature and Default filters (where applicable): Projects, Tags, and Service catalogs, without creating custom filters.

Create service catalog filters

To create a new filter:

  1. On either the Catalog items page (for catalog items) or Catalogs page (for catalogs), select the New filter New filter icon.

  2. Select a parameter name from the Field menu.

  3. Select a parameter Operator.

  4. Enter a parameter Value.

  5. Repeat as needed.

  6. Select Apply.

  7. Select Save filter Save filter.

  8. Enter a name in the field, and then select the Shared checkbox if you want to make it available to other users.

  9. Select OK to save the filter.

Edit existing catalog filters

To edit an existing filter:

  1. On either the Catalog items page (for catalog items) or Catalogs page (for catalogs), select the Filters menu, and the name of the filter you need to modify.

  2. Select Edit filter Edit filter.

  3. Modify the Field, Operator, or Value field entries as needed.

  4. Select Apply to apply the custom filter.

  5. Select Save filter Save filter.

    1. If required, update the name and if the filter should be shared.

  6. Select OK to save the filter.

Delete catalog item filters

To delete a filter:

  1. On either the Catalog items page (for catalog items) or Catalogs page (for catalogs), select the Filters menu, and the name of the filter you need to delete.

  2. Select Edit filter Edit filter.

  3. Select the Delete Delete icon.
