Copying an existing dashboard

You can create a new CloudBees Analytics dashboard more quickly by copying another dashboard. This includes any out-of-the box dashboards as well as any that you have created.

  1. Click New Dashboard: the New dialog box appears.

  2. Click Copy Existing: the New From CloudBees Analytics Dashboard dialog box appears.

  3. Browse to the dashboard that you want to copy and click to select it.

When you create a copy of the out-of-the-box Release Command Center dashboard, the associated reports are not copied at the same time. If you need to modify the report definitions, you must create copies of those reports before changing them (as with other out-of-the-box reports).

The New dialog box appears. The dashboard name and description fields are populated with the values from the dashboard that you copied.

  4. Modify the dashboard name and description fields as needed:

    • Name —Name of the dashboard to create.

    • Select Project —The CloudBees Software Delivery Automation project to which this dashboard will belong.

    • (Optional) Description —Description of the dashboard.

  5. Click OK.

The new dashboard appears in “Dashboard Editor” mode.

  6. (Optional) Click Add Filters to add a filter.

The Time Reference filter is added by default when you create a new dashboard via the dashboard editor. A dialog box for selecting filters for the new dashboard appears.

You can add your own filters by choosing the Custom Filter button.

  7. Check the check boxes for one or more filters and select OK.

  8. (Optional) Click View Dashboard to see the new dashboard in “View Dashboard” mode.

The new dashboard appears in the pulldown menu of available dashboards at the top right corner of the dashboards page.

  9. Add one or more widgets as needed.

For details, see Defining dashboard widgets.
