CloudBees Quiet Start plugin

1 minute read

Normally when Jenkins is restarted, it immediately starts trying to schedule jobs to run. If you are taking the server down for maintenance, you may not want everything to start running immediately.

  1. Select in the upper-right corner to navigate to the Manage Jenkins page.

  2. Select Quiet Restart.

  3. Select Stay in “quieting down” state when restarted. When the server is restarted, it will be in the "quieting down" state.

An administrator can cancel that state using the UI.
  4. Uncheck Stay in “quieting down” state when restarted when maintenance is complete. Projects will start as usual on server restart.
