Users have two options for configuring CloudBees CI Slack Integration notifications:

Enabling user notifications

The CloudBees Slack integration Plugin sends notifications dynamically to Slack when certain events are triggered that are associated with a build. These notifications can be sent directly to the GitHub or Bitbucket pull request (PR) author.

To send notifications directly to the GitHub or Bitbucket PR author, users must enable the plugin by providing the following information:

  • Slack email address: To look up the Slack ID.

  • SCM Id: To match the build author.

To enable CloudBees CI Slack Integration notifications:
  1. From CloudBees CI, navigate to your user profile.

  2. Select Slack Integration in the left pane.

  3. Turn on the Receiving notifications in Slack toggle.

  4. Enter the Slack email address for the related Slack account.

  5. Enter the SCM Id for the related GitHub or Bitbucket account.

The user’s SCM identifier, which depends on the SCM in use. For instance, for GitHub the SCM identifier is a username and for Bitbucket Cloud the SCM identifier is an Atlassian Id.
  6. Select Save.

Opting out of notifications

Some users may not want to receive notifications. These users can opt out by navigating to Slack Integration in their user profile and turning off the Receiving notifications in Slack toggle.
